Village Sign Workshops

Just to let you know that the organisers are arranging for an extra Tuesday evening session so that more of us will be able to attend and put forward our ideas for the village sign. Luckily they are very flexible, so we will be able to take part!

Save our Libraries campaign

Here I am on Friday 16th September, waiting for the library to open!
This is the WI day to use the library! Have a look at the National WI website for more information and go along! Browse, take out a book! Above all, take action!

Resolution on mega farms - more information!

Think back to last May when we had a very interesting meeting discussing the resolution on mega farms - everyone had an opinion and expressed concern at the lack of facts and information.

We have been able to secure the vice chair of our local NFU to speak to us - James Small, who farms near Priddy. He will be able to answer  those burning questions and explain the situation as it is today in farming and food production. This will be on Monday 10th October. I think it will prove to be another very interesting session!

For those who are free, there is a farm visit to New Manor Farm Downside on Thursday 20th October, during the afternoon. This visit has been organised by the County Federation.

September is here!

It seems that the weather has decided to bring in the Autumn a bit sooner than usual! Plenty to enjoy and look forward to, and as they say, it's not bad weather, just the wrong clothes!

On Monday we have a very interesting talk coming up all about stained glass from John Yeo. Have a look at his website - it's well worth it to give you a taste of what's to come!

We have several workshops organised, too - from contributing to the creation of the new village signs, to social networking and craft! All in the village - can't be bad!
