Very successful and enjoyable evening!

At our May meeting we had a very useful and heartfelt discussion about the W.I. campaign issues on the closure of libraries and the prospects of 'mega' farms. Many people voiced strong opinions and many very valid points were raised. Both of these resolutions are close to home for each of us.
When I go to the National Conference next month I shall make a decision to vote on our behalf; the discussions last night have given me a clear picture of  your views.

Our fact file was great fun! Well! What interesting - and some funny-  insights we discovered about each other! Val was the most astute amongst us, in correctly guessing  whether our statements were true or false; she very kindly gave the prize to Gill, who came second on the right answer front - but, I think, had the best story to go with her true statement!

Unfortunately our outing on 16th May  to the chocolate factory has been cancelled - so, undaunted and on the chocolate trail ...... we have decided to meet (16th May) for a chocolate evening at Jan P's at 7.30p.m. Please bring items (marshmallows, fruit.....) to douse in the chocolate fountain which Caroline will bring (+ some cash to pay for the chocolate!). It will also be useful to bring a fondue fork/ skewer to spear your chocolate carrier! (and perhaps an apron, some napkins and wipes!! - or maybe it won't be messy? will we be genteel? Or try to recreate that scene from the Vicar of Dibley when Dawn French put her head into a chocolate fountain?). This is a members only event! The answer is chocolate!
