What a lovely evening! Almost 50 WI members from Leigh on Mendip, Nunney, Kilmersdon, Buckland Dinham and Hemington gathered to celebrate together in a tradtional carol service in the beautiful St Giles church at Leigh on Mendip. Each WI provided a reader to unfold the Christmas story through the Bible readings, and the new vicar, Anthony, very kindly lead the service for us. Our organist did us proud, especially as she is a Leigh WI member; there was such a sense of warmth, cooperation together to make the whole event run seemlessly. Everyone stayed on to enjoy some mulled apple juice and savoury nibbles.
Thank you to everyone who came along and to all of the folk who helped to make it run so smoothly - from sweeping the church to organising the collection and clearing up afterwards!
