Calling all women in Leigh on Mendip! (And their friends and family!)
It's the moment when you can show some solidarity with other women across the world - they will be walking in South Africa, Romania, Dubai, Australia, Ireland, Canada, India....... All to celebrate the work of the Association of Country Women Worldwide, an international group of women who make changes! The ACWW has consultative status at the United Nations and gives women a voice at international level and represents 9 million women in over 70 countries.
We are hoping for a dry afternoon, meeting at the Memorial Hall at 2.30 ( maps will be available if you would like one), walking around the village and returning by 3.30 for tea and cakes!
You will be able to make a donation to the ACWW if you wish. We are supporting two groups of women this year: a water based project in Uganda and with a tree nursery in Ghana.
